Meet The New AVCC President, Al Soley

With a new year comes a changing of the guard in the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce. Al Soley will succeed Jim Sidaris as the chamber’s president on January 1st, 2021. Sidaris spent the last two years as the chamber’s leader.

Solely is no stranger to the AVCC; he joined the chamber seven years ago and has served as a board member. He also owns Aliso Creek Printing, which is located on Aliso Creek Road. Solely moved his graphic design, printing and mail services business from Lake Forest to Aliso Viejo in the Spring of 2000. He credits new leads, business exposure and the growth of his company to the connections he’s made as a member of the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce.

As president-elect, Soley has already started looking toward the future. Here’s what he had to say about becoming the next AVCC President.

AVCC: Why did you decide to run for President?

President-elect Al Soley: I like to get more involved in the community and serve; I have always been a business and relationship builder. I have worked in the corporate world, where I managed communication engineering, international marketing and sales departments. I like to use my education and experience to give back to our young community.

AVCC: Do you have any ideas or changes planned for the AVCC in 2021?

President-elect Al Soley: I’d like to add fresh values to our membership and would like to send valuable community and business information to all active and potential Chamber members. I’d like to introduce the chamber and our activities to the community and form an alliance between the businesses, the City and the residents of Aliso Viejo.

AVCC: How do you feel stepping into your new role as AVCC President?

President-elect Al Soley: I’m very excited and enthusiastic about my role as president. I’m eager to serve the chamber and our business community.

AVCC: What do you enjoy most about the Aliso Viejo community?

President-elect Al Soley: Aliso Viejo is a relaxed and straight forward community. We have very enthusiastic chamber members who are always open to lending a helping hand to their fellow chamber members.

AVCC: How are you/your business involved with the Aliso Viejo community?

President-elect Al Soley: I am a member of the Laguna Niguel Lions Club and was the president of Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary. I was actively involved with their College scholarship program for the Aliso Niguel high school graduates. I look forward to revitalizing this program through AVCC as well.

As Soley prepares to lead the chamber into 2021, he has high hopes for a brighter year ahead.   “I wish and hope that in the next year, we will overcome the pandemic and get the chance to do business with each other once again. I look forward to growing new relationships with one another.”
