The weather here in Aliso Viejo is one of the reasons we love our beautiful community!  This time of year, we see images of snow-capped trees and dogs wrapped up in sweaters and little boots. Unfortunately, there is no snow here in December.  But you can still catch that classic holiday picture feel without leaving Southern California? Lucky for us, we can get just the same picturesque holiday experience. Here are 4 things you can do right here in Orange County that will give you that classic, wintery holiday experience.

Go Ice skating!

The Aliso Viejo Ice Palace has public skating every day including Saturdays and Sundays!  Get the family together and enjoy the ice together this holiday season. The Ice Palace has special evening skating along with their regular public skating hours.  Ice skating is the perfect winter activity!  For details and hours, see their website here.

Jingle Bell Run

Get decked out in your favorite holiday gear or ugly sweater and run for a good cause! The Orange County Jingle Bell Run is the longest standing holiday-themed 5k race series anywhere.  Get the family together for an active and charitable run this season.  One hundred percent of registration funds will go to the Arthritis Foundation. Be a part of this festive holiday tradition and give back to the Arthritis Foundation. To register or find out more, see their website here.

Celebrate Hanukkah

Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo hosts its Hanukkah Extravaganza on December 15th.  The event starts at 4:30 and continues through the night.  Attendees are encouraged to wear their crazy Hanukkah sweaters or gear.  Prices range from $15 to $20 per person and dinner will be served. Holidays Hawaii-style
The SOKA performing arts center is wishing you Mele Kalikimaka! They are bringing Hawaii to Aliso Viejo, with this year’s Hawaiian Holiday Concert with Ho’okena.  This incredibly talented trio earned themselves not one, but two Grammy nominations and are a mainstay of island-style music.  If you want to experience a taste of the islands this festive season, check out Ho’okena this December!
