Tips for Orange County Businesses as Doors Are Permitted to Reopen

Our goal at the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce is to work together to promote and serve our community. Currently, many of our local chamber members are planning to reopen for when more OC businesses are given the OK. We’ve provided some basic guidelines for members of our community to be aware of, whether you are a business owner, an employee, or a customer.

The future of how our businesses run may look different than what we are used to, and it will be helpful to mentally prepare for what that may look like:

Safety Guidelines for Operating Businesses

The CDC recently published guidelines for employers to consider as their employees return to work. This includes updated strategies and recommendations, including those seeking to resume normal or phased business operations.

There are various ways your business can open back up while also continuing to stay mindful of the transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace. First, social distancing is still heavily encouraged; any business should reconfigure their space so that employees are working 6 feet apart. This may mean having restaurant seating at every other table once dine-in is permitted, separating office desks, and closing down communal areas in workplaces such as conference rooms and kitchens.

If not already required, businesses should also ask their employees to wear masks while they are in the office, and temperature checks before shifts have been recommended

if accessible.

More CDC guidelines for employees and employers include extended telework when applicable, flexible meeting and travel options for those who conduct business in multiple locations, and continuing to deliver products through curbside pickup or delivery.
