We are proud to announce the city, so many of us call home has been ranked as the third safest city in all of California, according to the 2016 Safewise Report. For the past two years, Aliso Viejo has been proud to occupy the fourth on the list, but our diligent safety efforts elevated our standing one spot closer to the top spot.
We know the importance of feeling safe in your home, which is why safety has always been a top priority for our community. Together, we work hard to keep crime to a minimum, incorporating smart safety strategies that keep residents, visitors, homes, and businesses safe.
The report included 50 cities, and Aliso Viejo came in 3rd, right after the city of Imperial and Rancho Santa Margarita. Safewise, a home security company, reviewed the 2014 FBI Crime Report statistics and population data, including cities with more than 10,000 residents. Safewise also analyzed the number of reported violent crimes and property crimes. An interesting fact – over half of the cities on the list had less than 20 total violent crimes!
Our city would not be the safe community it is today without the diligent efforts of our law enforcement services. In addition to keeping our city safe, the OC Sheriff’s department offers a number of community programs including child safety, neighborhood watch, business watch, homeless liaison services, as well as host a number of community events to educate the public. They are whole-heartedly dedicated to providing responsive and caring safety enforcement to every single citizen, and for that we thank you.
We also want to thank the entire Aliso Viejo community for doing their role in keeping our city safe. We could not do it without each and every one of you!
