Recapping the October Networking Breakfast with American Red Cross

american-red-crossDid you attend the recent October Networking Breakfast featuring speaker Kimberly Aufrecht of the American Red Cross? If not, we’re here to give you the highlights.

Last month, Aliso Viejo Chamber members gathered at the Wedgewood Aliso Viejo Center to learn more about the Be Red Cross Ready program, by the American Red Cross Southern California Region. The program teaches steps to prepare your household or business for the next potential emergency.

Kimberly Aufrecht, a Red Cross Community Preparedness Manager, led the discussion and offered resources to help small, local businesses stay prepared for the unexpected. After the presentation, Kimberly also answered questions about how local Aliso businesses could partner with the Red Cross Mission.

Kimberly has been with the Red Cross for the past five years. Through community presentations and programs, she’s found a passion for training volunteer presenters and ultimately helping families and businesses begin their preparedness journeys. On top of these responsibilities, Kimberly is a shelter supervisor, and is often called on to serve in active regional disaster operations.

Attendees also honored Heidi Stoops, who’s been on the Chamber’s Board of Directors since the beginning, for the Spirit Award! This was Heidi’s last networking breakfast with the Aliso Viejo Chamber, as her and her husband recently moved to Tennessee. The Chamber, its leaders, and loyal members will all dearly miss her!

Thank you to all who attended, and be sure to RSVP for the next Networking Breakfast on November 14th!
