We could not have been more pleased with the turnout of our annual Golf Tournament 2016! We joined forces with the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce to host the all day event, which was held at the lush Aliso Viejo Country Club. It was a fun-filled day of food, drinks, music, and of course – golf!
The event was open to the public, bringing everyone together as a community. Participants signed up for 18 holes of golf and had the option to play individually or on a team of four. Non-players were encouraged to join the festivities and show their support for the local teams. The day was filled with more than just golf, including a silent auction, on-course contests, a wine raffle, and celebration dinner to conclude the evening.
The day’s events kicked off at 9AM with registration and breakfast, sponsored by the delicious Urth Caffe. And that’s not all! There was also a Bloody Mary bar to really get the day started, provided by Lumberyard Restaurant. Shotgun began at 11AM, in a 4-person team scramble format. On-course games were offered at select holes, including Beat the Pro, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Hole in One. There were even beverage stations available along the course to keep our golfers hydrated and refreshed! When lunchtime rolled around, the Montage Resort was there to refuel the players and keep guests’ bellies full and happy.By 4PM the golf revelry had died down and just in time for cocktail hour. During this time, the silent auction was held and contest and raffle winners were announced, sending an array of guests home as winners.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the boys and girls golf teams at Laguna Beach and Aliso Niguel High School. We will be presenting this check to the Aliso Niguel High School at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, date and time to be determined. Last year, we were able to donate $1000 to each school. Laguna Beach High School Head Gold Coach Scott Finn shared, “Our high school golf programs really benefit from this kind of community support and generous donation. It enables us to run our golf programs 11 months a year. We are able to keep kids playing and practicing throughout the year which is beneficial for both our players and our golf program.”
Thank you to all the participants and attendees who came out to spend the day with us and all the sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event possible. We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you!
We would like to extend a special thank you to the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce staff photographers, Jeannie and Edward of Bear Flag Photography, for capturing the many special moments of the day. As an attendee at a Chamber event, you are welcome to view and download the photos for your personal use. You can’t miss the “Drive in a Dress” photos!
