Nokes & Nokes Law Talks Personal Injury at March AVCC Networking Breakfast

avcc-networking-breakfastThe March AVCC Networking Breakfast was a memorable one, packed with great food, green goodies, and an illuminating presentation by Beau Nokes of Nokes & Nokes, a Law Corporation

The morning kicked off with a warm welcome to new Chamber members and a fun activity where attendees met, mingled, and shared what they’d do if they found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Interestingly enough, many of them said they’d donate to a charity or travel the world. The theme was fitting as the breakfast preceded St. Patrick’s Day.  Many donned green and matched the festive decor set out by or hosts, Wedgewood Aliso Viejo Center,

The breakfast itself was a buffet-style feast of bacon, eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastries, and more. Thank you to some of our members that donated opportunity drawing gifts! If you would like to highlight and promote your business, please remember to bring a gift for the drawing.

The real highlight of the event was the discussion held by Beau Nokes, a personal injury attorney with a knack for presentation.

Beau’s presentation was filled with engaging PowerPoint slides full of personality and humor. He had a list of rules for avoiding a personal injury lawsuit, with his number one rule being, “Don’t be a jerk,” a mantra he preaches both in lawsuits and in life.

He even had a slide that showed a figure shooting itself in the foot, which drove home the point of avoiding mistakes that could hurt your chances in a lawsuit.

Most notably, Beau offered practical advice to the Chamber members on how to protect themselves against common lawsuits, including making sure they opt-in for certain options in their insurance policy and being aware of the tactics insurance companies often use to disqualify you. He also provided tips on what to do in case of a car accident, such as getting information from any witnesses and creating a police report within 24 hours, even if you don’t feel any pain.

The Chamber thanks the Wedgewood Aliso Viejo Center for hosting the event, and Beau Nokes for the valuable legal lessons and laughs. If you couldn’t attend this event, be sure to register online and claim your seat for the next AVCC Networking Breakfast on April 11, 2023. As usual, the entry fee is $14.95 if you pre-pay online and $19.95 at the door. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at the Wedgewood Aliso Viejo Center next month!
