Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome one of its newest members, Kitagawa Law. Located on Vantis Drive, Kitagawa Law is a law firm specializing in business litigation, estate planning, and recently, privacy compliance. The firm has over two decades of experience representing both individuals and Fortune 100 companies with compliance, business support, business litigation, and estate planning.
We recently interviewed Stephen Kitagawa, the Managing Partner of the firm, to learn more about Kitagawa Law and its work in the community. Below is a roundup of our interview.
AVCC: What is the mission of Kitagawa Law?
KL: Our mission is “to provide you with experienced, personal, and exceptional representation.” As the principal of Kitagawa Law, I have over 20 years of experience and have tried 200 cases. I have represented individuals, Fortune 100 companies, banks, and non-profits in litigation, compliance, transactional, and estate-planning related matters.
AVCC: How does Kitagawa Law differ from other legal firms in the area?
KL: As far as estate-planning, I personally draft every trust, directive, and document in my clients’ estate plans. I don’t use a template program like many practitioners. Due to my experience in drafting and litigating contracts for the past two decades, I have the ability to draft precise and legally proficient documents, catered to my client’s exact needs and desires. As far as privacy compliance is concerned, I have partnered up with a digital forensics expert who was the managing partner of DSU Discovery in San Francisco for close to 20 years. We also partnered up with Xpert.com, one of the nation’s leading providers of security technology and cybersecurity services. We feel that our unique combination of legal expertise, coupled with the highest level of technical acumen, places us in a superior position to advise and protect our clients under the incoming privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). It is a new world, and we are excited to be at the forefront of it.
AVCC: Why did you decide to join the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce?
KL: I love Aliso Viejo. I have lived here since 1999, and there is no other place I’d rather raise my family. From the first event I attended at the Chamber of Commerce, I was welcomed with open arms and treated like family. To have a business in Aliso Viejo and have the opportunity to work with astute, engaging, and successful individuals who are part of the Chamber is a privilege that helps my business and helps develop business in the city I love.
AVCC: What are you most looking forward to as being a member of the Chamber?
KL: Getting to know and work with the individuals and business leaders who will lead Aliso Viejo into the future.
AVCC: Do you have any promotions you’d like to share?
KL: Yes – Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce members and their families receive 20% off any legal services we provide.
