Despite remaining in the most-restrictive purple tier of California’s four-tier pandemic tracking system, many businesses in Aliso Viejo including restaurants, gyms and hair salons are now allowed to reopen. After the stay-at-home order was lifted on Monday, January 25th, many local businesses at venues like “The Row” in the Aliso Viejo Town Center are ready to welcome in customers once again.
While entertainment venues like bowling alleys and amusement parks remain closed at this time, there are several businesses that can reopen either outdoors or at a limited capacity. CLICK HERE for a full list of guidelines and restrictions.
Local COVID-19 Vaccination Site
Aliso Viejo’s Soka University has become the second COVID-19 vaccine Super Point of Dispensing site to open in Orange County. On Saturday, January 23rd, individuals who were eligible and made an online appointment were able to begin the vaccination process. Currently, only those working in high-risk settings such as law enforcement or adults over the age of 65 are eligible.
Vaccinations are available by appointment only through Othena.com. For questions, you can call the County of Orange COVID-19 hotline at (714) 834-2000 M-F from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Eligible individuals with an appointment must present identification and proof of eligibility at the Super POD site to receive a vaccine. Once registered in Othena, appointment notifications to those in the “digital waiting room” will be prioritized based on factors including age, time of registration, and available vaccine supply. Eligible individuals who received their first vaccine dose through the Othena system will automatically receive their second dose appointment confirmation through Othena.
