Local, Fun Development Programs for the Youth

Local-Fun-Development-Programs-for-the-Youth-Aliso-Viejo-Chamber-of-CommerceIt’s hard to believe summer went that fast, and we are full swing into fall. We had a blast seeing you at our local networking events, celebrating the ribbon cutting of Becoming Church, watching the Soka University students perform Shakespeare Under the Stars, and the many other events sponsored by our local businesses.

Now that school is back in session and life is getting back into the usual routine, we would like to bring your attention to some programs run by Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce members for young families and children.

Planning the Calendar Year

Besides school, there are many other developmental activities for the youth to get involved in here in Aliso Viejo. Some kids choose to join a sport, join a club, or volunteer around the community. We see value in these activities because they help your son or daughter become disciplined, learn the value of teamwork and gets them to make new friends.

Peaking Their Interests

If your child is not yet involved in a school-organized extracurricular, explore everything offered by the Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley. This world-class after school non-profit offers quality programs in academic success and healthy lifestyles.

Their programs help your child build good character and leadership skills, and expose them to proven character-building programs. They will learn all types of life skills through programs like Money Matters, Computer Technology, Career Launch & many more. They have programs for students of all ages and also have opportunities to volunteer. To learn more about their programs, visit their website.

Looking to the Future

Another incredible after-school program is the Discovery Prep School. This is perfect for parents who want their children to start thinking about college applications, potential majors and careers.

This one-of-a-kind program gives a group of students the opportunity to practice Discovery Prep’s philosophy of resourcefulness, entrepreneurship, compassion, and service to others – skills required to THRIVE in the 21st century. Completing this program will get your child to stand out in college applications and prepare them for all types of public speaking that lies ahead. If this sounds like the right fit, get your child enrolled on the Discovery Prep School website.
