Make it a point to seek out locally sourced items, whether it’s in-person or online. Many grocery stores and national chains carry local goods, it may just take a little extra effort to find. Many smaller businesses also provide options to buy their products on their websites, Facebook pages, or by ordering over the phone.
Order Takeout or Delivery
If you don’t feel comfortable dining out just yet or your favorite restaurant doesn’t offer outdoor seating, consider getting takeout or delivery once a week. Most restaurants have found ways to make ordering their food easy and convenient, including new delivery and curbside pick-up options.
Write a Nice Review
Take a few minutes to write a positive review of your favorite local business once a week. Facebook, Google, and Yelp are all great places to leave your thoughts on a memorable experience.
Buy a Gift Card
If you don’t need anything for the time being, consider purchasing a gift card for the future or as a birthday gift for a friend. It’s money the owner can use right now for expenses, and when people shop with gift cards, they often spend more than just the amount on the card. It’s a way to treat yourself or someone you love while supporting local businesses.
