As cities and businesses across the nation try to get back to a somewhat “normal” lifestyle post shutdown, it’s a great time to get involved with your community. Whether big or small, a donation, volunteer work or even supporting a local business can make a huge difference. Here are some ways Aliso Viejo residents and business owners can give back to the community this summer.
Save A Life
The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive in Aliso Viejo on Tuesday, September 7th. The drive will be held at The Barn at Aliso Viejo Ranch from 12 pm – 6 pm. To make an appointment, head over to redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: Aliso Viejo. To streamline your donation experience, visit the American Red Cross Rapid Pass site to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions on the day of your appointment.
Clean Up
Volunteer your time to help the City of Aliso Viejo clean up Aliso Creek and the surrounding areas. The City of Aliso Viejo Trails and Creek Cleanup event will be held on Saturday, September 18th from 8 am – 11 am. You’re asked to wear appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes or hiking boots and to bring items such as gardening gloves, sunscreen and a hat. For more information or to pre-register for the event, please contact Moy Yahya at (949) 425-2538 or myahya@avcity.org.
Support A Local Business
Seven Seas Roasting Co. is a veteran-owned specialty coffee roaster that works directly with farmers. This summer, grab one of their specialty avocado toast selections, a nitro cold brew or refreshing kombucha. If you’re in the mood for a hoagie, head to Which Wich in the Aliso Viejo Town Center. The sandwich shop has been serving up subs to the community since 2013 and has been a supporter of local charities.
