With more than 20 million vaccines administered in California so far, the state is planning to fully reopen on June 15th. In the meantime, Governor Gavin Newsom has rolled out a $116.5 million vaccine incentive program to encourage more Californians to get vaccinated, and that includes residents and business owners in Aliso Viejo. The grand prize is worth $1.5 million. 
Here’s How You Could Win
If you’re already vaccinated or plan to start your first round of the COVID-19 vaccine before the dates of each drawing, you may be eligible(see restrictions below) to win three types of prizes:
- 10 people will win $1.5 million.
- 30 people will win $50,000.
- Two million people who begin and complete their COVID-19 vaccinations will be eligible to receive a $50 prepaid or grocery card to Kroger, Albertsons or a MasterCard added to your phone mobile wallet.
The $15 million jackpot will go to 10 different winners and will be held on June 15th. Vaccinated Californians will also be automatically entered for a chance to win $50,000, in drawings that will be held on June 4th and June 11th.
How Do I Know If I’m Eligible?
All Californians 12 years or older are eligible, except for those incarcerated as well as some state workers and their families. The money will be put in a savings account for minors until they turn 18. Winners must complete their vaccination to claim the prize.
How To Receive Your $50 Gift Card
If you received your first vaccination on or after May 27th, you’ll get a redemption code by text or email within 7-10 days after your last vaccination. For those receiving a two-dose series, your $50 card will be set aside until your completed second dose.
According to Governor Newsom, the Golden State will continue to monitor hospitalization rates, vaccine access and vaccine efficacy with the option to revisit the June 15th reopening date as needed.
