Highlights: Webb’s Grainworks Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening

webb's-grainworksWebb’s Grainworks is now open for business!

On Saturday, September 16, we welcomed Proprietor and Head Distiller Jeremy Webb, Chief Marketing Officer Mark Levine, and Chief Operating Officer Ryan Hatch, as well as staff and members of the Chamber. Certificates were presented by Congress, Senate, City of Aliso Viejo Mayor Pro-Tem Mike Munzing, Councilmembers Ross Chun and Max Duncan. The ribbon was cut, formally ushering in the new restaurant, distillery, brewery and bar into the Aliso scene.

The Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the Grand Opening carrying on until 11:00 p.m. The launch was a huge success, with loads of Aliso residents pouring in to explore Webb’s unique menu of beer, spirits, and “global comfort” food, ranging from craveable sandwiches and cured meats to hand folded dumplings and noodle soups.

The story of Webb’s Grainworks is a serendipitous one. In 1954, Jeremy’s father Lewis Webb left West Virginia with his wife, seeking new opportunities in the golden state. Fast-forward to 2007, and their youngest son – Jeremy Webb – returns to the East Coast to attend West Virginia University and study the Appalachian whiskey tradition. After spending a bit of time in Kentucky to study Bourbon production, he followed in his father’s footsteps and returned to California, ready to start a family of his own and launch a state-of-the-art distillery unlike any other.

Thank you to all the members who attended the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening! The Aliso Viejo Chamber is thrilled to have been a part of Webb’s formal launch, and we’re excited to see what success awaits Jeremy and his staff of whiskey aficionados.
