“Failure is not final, celebrate your successes and continue to move forward.”
Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce member Julia Naranjo shared those inspirational words during the start of the October AVCC Networking Breakfast. Julia spoke about the difficult times many of us have endured during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the importance of pushing forward in our quest for recovery.
Soka Performing Arts Center General Manager, Renee Bodie also spoke about the resilience in the Aliso Viejo community. Despite a difficult 2020, the Soka Performing Arts is now celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new lineup of talent.
If you’re not familiar with Aliso Viejo’s Soka Performing Arts Center, here’s a bit of history:
Soka Performing Arts Center is located on the beautiful hilltop campus of Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo. The facility includes the 1,032-seat Concert Hall featuring world-class acoustics designed by master acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota, designer of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. The center also has an intimate 350-seat Black Box Theatre that includes club seating with bistro tables.
More than 500 performances have taken place since the center’s dedication on May 27, 2011. The Soka Performing Arts Center is continuing to expand its programming and outreach with the addition of a Children’s Concert Series, Blues Festival, and the only Great Pianists Series on the West Coast.
