AVCC June Member of the Month: Vollebregt Law

Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce has selected Vollebregt Law as our featured Member of the Month for June!

Vollebregt Law is an independent boutique law firm delivering highly personalized legal services to individuals, businesses, and institutional clients. Based in Aliso Viejo, Vollebregt Law provides counsel and representation in a variety of areas, including real estate, public and municipal law, litigation, and government affairs. Jake Vollebregt is the firm’s founder and managing counsel. Jake also serves as a board member and secretary for the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce!

We asked Jake a few questions about Vollebregt Law:

AVCC: When did Vollebregt Law open in Aliso Viejo, and how has the experience been?

Vollebregt Law opened its doors in February 2020. As a resident of Aliso Viejo, I truly appreciate being part of the business community and serving as a member of this City’s chamber.

AVCC: What do you enjoy about the Aliso Viejo/Laguna Niguel Community?

I enjoy being close to Laguna’s beaches and the Aliso and Wood Canyon wilderness areas.  I really enjoy running, hiking, and cycling along its trails. I feel very lucky to live in an area that has a strong connection to nature as well as a strong, vibrant economy. The community also has a strong commitment to ethical government and local control. Our community has so many organizations with a commitment to service—our churches and civic groups help make South Orange County a safe and supportive community, which is another reason it’s a great place to raise a family and build a business.

AVCC: How does Vollebregt Law engage with the Aliso Viejo Community?

My firm is only a few months old, but I’ve always enjoyed being involved in our community. I’m a member of the Laguna Niguel Lions Club, and I currently serve as chair-elect for the South Orange County Economic Coalition. In the past, I’ve been fortunate to work with the community as a deputy city attorney for the City of Aliso Viejo and as Director of Regional & Legal Affairs for Moulton Niguel Water District. In my hometown of San Clemente, I’ve also served as a board member for the Boys & Girls Club of the South Coast Area. My family and I are parishioners at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel.

How has being a member of the Chamber helped your business?

As a business owner, being part of the Chamber helps me stay current on the issues that my clients and others in our community are facing. It has been a great clearinghouse for information during the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges facing Aliso Viejo and our region. The Chamber brings together many important stakeholders in our community, including our faith communities, schools, and other service organizations. It’s a great way to stay in touch with public officials who care about the area’s business climate.
