AVCC Chamber Member Spotlight: Dave Fleming, Chamber President

AVCC-chamberThe Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce has recently inducted a new Chamber President! Dave Fleming, owner of the local Which Wich Superior Sandwiches in the Aliso Town Center, has won the favor of the city and the chamber, flaunting big plans for the organization’s future.

In light of his new role, Dave has provided a few words on his journey to the AVCC presidency, along with his broader vision for the organization:

How long have you been with the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce (AVCC)?

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches joined the Chamber shortly after franchisee ownership transferred to me in 2018.

Tell us about your chamber experience thus far.

The Chamber is an excellent way to get to know other community business owners and city officials. It provides a valuable network of contacts.

What motivated you to pursue the role of AVCC President?

All board positions are voluntary, including the role of President. Being able to help guide the Chamber and add value for the benefit of community businesses is my goal.

How did your ownership of Which Wich Superior Sandwiches in Aliso Viejo impact your decision to run for AVCC presidency?

Business owners quickly become aware of the many spoken and unspoken skills required to operate successfully. The chamber helps to connect the dots between needs, wants and what it takes to achieve goals.

Do you have any specific goals for the future of AVCC?

My broader goal is to provide value-added events for chamber membership that attracts new members while retaining those already engaged. On a smaller scale, I plan to conduct comprehensive real estate presentations of Aliso Viejo and surrounding communities, organize a panel discussion with the Aliso Viejo Mayor and City Council members, and kick off a golf tournament fundraiser sponsored by the AVCC. I also plan to host a CEO Roundtable event, hosted by the Chamber.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank for your recent election?

The president’s position, as well as other chamber positions evolve through a nomination and acceptance process.  I’d like to thank the past Chamber President Al Soley for his outstanding example of leadership over the past calendar year.

Stop by Which Wich Superior Sandwiches in the Aliso Town Center for a chance to congratulate Dave on his recent success, or encourage his plans for the AVCC moving forward.
