April’s member of the month: Marque Medical’s Bree Maloney

If you live in the city of Aliso Viejo and have ever been in need of urgent medical care, then you’ve probably heard of or visited Marque Medical.

Marque Medical has provided quality medical care to the citizen of Aliso Viejo, but it has grown to be more than just that. It has also evolved to become a one-stop place for everyone’s overall wellness.

This month’s Member of the Month, Bree Maloney, has worked with Marque Medical as the Communication and Relations Manager for three and a half years. During her time there, Bree has gone out of her way to make the Marque Medical experience as comfortable, convenient, and meaningful as possible by creating a friendly and welcoming environment where patients are treated like family.

She has also added and contributed to the founding of new and exciting programs to the clinics. One of the programs she co-founded was the Physical Therapy location in Aliso Viejo, which has helped hundreds of people get back to their normal routines by fostering better strength, mobility, and function to their patient’s bodies.

Bree additionally helped launch our SmartBeat, SmartBeat Sport, and HeadStrong Concussion Management programs. SmartBeat is a preventative Cardiovascular screening program. It reveals your risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. SmartBeat Sport is the student-athlete version of the SmartBeat program. It screens the risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in young adults, which is the #1 killer among women and kills 450,000 young adults annually.

Lastly, the Concussion Management Program is also referred to as HeadStrong. This program was founded after one of the clinic’s medical director’s son suffered a concussion and was sent to the ER for a CT scan. The CT scan was negative, but he then realized there was no proper follow-up care for his son. Thus the HeadStrong was formed.

Due to the success of the clinic and this program, Marque Medical was contacted by a company based on the East Coast called BrainScope. They developed a disposable headset that can be used to determine if there’s blood in your brain before getting a CT scan. The technology won the GE/NFL Head Health Challenge in 2013 and is currently overseas in the backpacks and medical units for the U.S. Military.

“I feel honored that I help develop and market such positive programs that are available to our communities,” Bree states. “This is the best part of my job. I get to focus a lot of my time and energy in developing strong relationships with local businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, and schools. I absolutely love what I do and want to thank the city of Aliso Viejo for being such a great community and always striving to support one another.”
