Aliso Viejo’s Health & Wellness Checklist

You and your family’s health is your primary concern. It is important to remain proactive with your checkups, instead of being reactive to your health issues. The Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce recommends you review this checklist every 3-6 months to ensure you are doing what you can to avoid any problems in the future.health-checklist-aliso-viejo-chamber-of-commerce

1. Know Your Health Care Coverage

Make sure you know your health care provider by name and figure out where you can go in case of an emergency. If you have children, be sure to explain the insurance information to them as well. If you find your coverage is lacking, reach out to one of the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce insurance members for alternative options.

2. Update Your Medical Records

If you do not visit the same general practitioner (GP) every time, they will most likely not have your complete medical history. If something happens, it is vital that your doctor has easy access to your full medical history (including vaccinations) so they can take immediate action.

3. Get a General Check-up For Everyone

Every member of your family should go in for one annual visit to your doctor. This check-up gives your GP the chance to update your records and notice any irregularities. If you don’t have a general practitioner you like, consider working with Hoag Hospital, one of the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce partners.

4. Don’t Forget Dental

We all know to brush twice a day, but dentists also recommend a dental visit every six months to help prevent possible cavities and other problems. If you, or your family, are experiencing any toothaches, we suggest addressing it immediately. If you are looking for a new dentist, check out the great team at Aliso Viejo Dental to schedule your first appointment.

5. Be Sure to Exercise

Exercise helps keep your heart healthy and increases your life expectancy. Experts recommend getting at least 30 minutes of exercise at least three days a week. There are many different ways Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce members who have Fitness Health Clubs for you to join, right here in Aliso Viejo. Discover them all in our directory.

6. Take a Moment to Relax

Last, but certainly not least, it is essential to find time to relax. With all the stresses of life, it is often easy to forget this one. Take a moment for yourself as often as you can. Ladies, consider a full beauty spa day at SoCal Beauty. Whatever your form of relaxing is, be sure to do so!

We hope this checklist is helpful to you and that you took action to help your family’s health and wellness. If you have any additional health and wellness tips for your community, please share your thoughts in the comments.
