Aliso Viejo Real Estate Update at the AVCC April Networking Breakfast

avccThanks to the real estate expertise and insights of Bob Bunyan, the AVCC April Networking Breakfast was chock-full of developmental updates that may be visible to Aliso Viejo residents in the coming months.

Recently, Governor Newsom signed new state legislation which will make it easier to add new housing in Californian cities come July 1st, 2023, with minimal local control. With the possibility of new condos in the Town Center, apartments in the Commons, and office buildings being turned into residential housing, Bob Bunyan spoke on how this new legislation can specifically impact Aliso Viejo and its residents.

Once in effect, the legislation will allow owners of commercial property (office, retail, and industrial buildings) to convert it to residential use, without any rezoning or major control by local jurisdictions. This is all in an effort to enable more affordable housing, justified by the owners’ rights to their properties.

Bob Bunyan has been a leader in real estate strategic planning, development, and marketing for over 50 years, serving as the master developer of Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, and the J.F. Shea Company. He founded Robert Bunyan & Associates (RBA) in 2002 to provide real estate consulting for property owners, developers, and public agencies.

The AVCC, its members, and our new Networking Breakfast attendees are grateful for Bob’s housing market update and insights into what developments may await Aliso residents.

Be sure to RSVP online and stop by for our next Networking Breakfast on May 9th if you missed this one. We’re excited to see you there!
