Being a part of the Aliso Viejo community, whether as a business owner or as a resident, provides you with endless resources and support. This is especially so if you are an AV Chamber Member!
Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce wants to share a friendly reminder that even though the weather is warming up and more people are venturing outside for fresh air, it is important to remember to continue social distancing and to stay prepared. The steps that you take now can help ensure your family’s safety in an unpredictable future.
We’ve gathered some useful tips so that you, your family members, friends, employees, neighbors, and others that you care about are prepared in case of a medical emergency due to the coronavirus.
Create an alternate caregiver list
In the event that you are unable to care for your children, it will be helpful to provide a roster of adults who can set up and care for them. This is also true for pets or other family members who are unable to care for themselves. This should be someone you trust to provide for their basic needs and emotional health. Also, choose someone who would have space and the means to invite your child into their home and provide you with regular updates. An Alternate Caregiver Identification Form can help you list all the information that you’d need to provide.
Prepare documents
If you do need to hand your children or other family members who are unable to care for themselves to a caregiver, you will need to provide them with a letter authorizing them to seek medical treatment for your loved one in the case of an emergency or illness. Care can be unnecessarily delayed if you are unable to provide an emergency consent form.
Create a “go-bag”
Having a go-bag ready for each of your family members is important, especially if you must be separated due to illness. It should be packed with personal items and overnight essentials to ensure that each individual is prepared in case of an unexpected emergency. It can be helpful to make a list to easily double-check and make sure you have everything that is needed.
As parents, business owners, neighbors, and friends in this community, we know that Aliso Viejo is a place that truly supports one another and is quick to lend out a helping hand. We hope that you share this information with those who would find it beneficial to keep their families prepared.
As we continue to stay prepared, shelter at home, and practice social distancing, we also want to remind you that you can continue to help the Aliso Viejo community by supporting our local businesses.
