The 15th annual Aliso Viejo Community Cup Golf Tournament was held Thursday, March 29, 2018. Teams arrived on a sunny morning at the scenic Aliso Viejo Country Club to enjoy 18 holes of golf on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course.
But making the winning score wasn’t the sole focus of the Aliso golfers that day. It was instead to donate the proceeds of the tournament to local charities, including Aliso Viejo youth programs through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley-Aliso Viejo Branch, Aliso Viejo Community Foundation scholarship program, and Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center.
Not only did the Aliso Viejo business owners enter the charity tournament, but select Chamber Members participated as well! Chamber members Stephen Wagner (of Katie Wagner Social Media), Dick Fisher (Owner of Cosmo’s Family Italian Restaurant), Eric Hauber (former president of the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce), and Bree Maloney (with Marque Urgent Care in Aliso Viejo) all took part in the fun. The Chamber Team played through the tournament and finished with a score of 59.
To help everyone get into the proper swing of the event, golfers were treated a delicious complimentary breakfast and lunch, and lavish award receptions afterward.
After the final score had been tallied and winners announced, the golfers enjoyed a celebratory happy hour from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A silent auction, dinner, and awards ceremony followed.
Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to everyone who participated in this event to better enable the lives of the children in our community!
