Supporting one another was the theme of October’s Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce Networking breakfast. The virtual event was held over Zoom and provided a place for chamber members and guests to talk about their wins and losses over the last six months.
The small group gave attendees the opportunity to speak candidly about their backgrounds, business experience, and current career. One member opened up about their journey looking for a new job amid the pandemic. “I was once in the same position and landed my job thanks to connections I made in the chamber,” said another longtime AVCC member. “It’s all about supporting one another and keeping each other employed in the city we love.”
Guest speaker Bill Moorhead reiterated the importance of working together as a community whether you’re a business owner or educator. The retired engineer and current Moulton Niguel Water District board member shared a story about his childhood and his high school biology teacher. Her love of science and dedication to her students eventually inspired Bill to pursue a career in the water treatment industry — which led to a decades-long career serving cities across Orange County.
Bill also shared some interesting facts about Moulton Niguel Water District. Did you know the local water supplier is celebrating 60 years in business and currently serves about 86 percent of Aliso Viejo residents?
